BOTH THE “ENDING & SCORES” SEEMED RIGGED!
And while every scribe but myself on the planet will call the ending “Controversial,” a better description would be “Atrocious,” which means “Horrifyingly Wicked.”
CO-HOST & I HAD “SAME SCORE”
Thomas Dillemuth & I (in different states) both thought that Rico was up 7-3 in rounds or 97-93 on points after 10. Astonishingly to most, but not to Pedro, the official scores were “atrocious” as 2 jurists had what were in my mind “criminal scores” of 95-95, while the third judge had Rico up 96-94.
NON-FIGHTERS WON’T GET THIS!
When Underdogs get mucked over in boxing, the fans and selected Media usually get the “Wronged Guy” a second fight. And in the rematch, the “House Guy” probably wins 95% of the time. Why?
ROBBED & SCREWED VS FLOYD MAYWEATHER
In 2014, Marcos Maidana beat Floyd Mayweather by a score of 115-111, according to HBO jurist Harold Lederman. I had it 8-4 (116-112) in rounds for Maidana. MOST pundits felt “MM” clearly won. One Judge saw it as a Draw at 114-114, but Bert Clements & Dave Morretti gave it to Floyd 117-111 (9-3 in rounds) & 116-112 (8-4). In the mandated rematch, Marcos was all but shut out!
NO REAL & HONEST “PROS” ARE THAT FAR OFF?
Instead of Morretti & Clements being “banned or suspended” for submitting faulty tabulations, because I don’t feel you can consciously have Floyd Mayweather winning and not being either totally inept or bought & paid for? This writer cannot come up with a third option!
JUDGES “USED TO RUN” FROM PEDRO
Having cornered Dave Morretti & other judges a slew of times, once I said to Dave as he was “ignoring me”, awaiting his car at valet. “You keep blowing scores and yet continue to get ‘Big Money’ fight assignments. Do you and Dalby “Split Decision” Shirley have dirty pictures of Nevada Commission head Mark Ratner?” Walked away. I never spoke with Morretti again!
MARCOS LOST “HOLDING KING & AN ACE”
Most people know a little bit about playing Blackjack or “21” as they call it in da’ hood. IF you get a King & an Ace, you instantly win! Getting screwed by Judges in boxing is like having your King & Ace beaten by a Pair of 8’s or 16!
FENECH WAS “FOREVER DAMAGED”
Getting “robbed” has destroyed fighters emotionally. Case in mind, Aussie Jeff Fenech beat up Azumah Nelson in a 12-round 1991 fight that was scored a Draw. Jeff was never, and I mean “never the same.”
WBC ADMITTED “HEIST” IN 2022
In 2022, the WBC gave Jeff a 130 lb. “belt,” essentially admitting the first Nelson outing was a Heist! In the rematch held, “I was never the same after Vegas & Azumah. I remember going to bed at Caesar’s Palace that night and NEVER falling asleep. I was broken, Pedro. You were there.” 3 division world champion Jeff Fenech.
RICO WILL GET REMATCH & FLOUNDER?
Having stated that, history indicates “Robbery Victims” rarely win rematches. That being said, Denmark’s Rico Valehevov “might be the exception” to that rule!
