San Francisco, CA– With multiple sources saying Shakur Stevenson and Gervonta Davis are “Signed for September” on Netflix*, I say hallelujah because: A-The fight is happening and B – Zuffa Sports has “No Role.” Boxing fans believe when I say, “Dana White is to Boxing, what Gonorrhea is to Dating!”
“STREET URCHINS” BATTLE IT OUT ON NETFLIX*
Let’s start with Gervonta “Tank” Davis. He stands 5’5 and is unbeaten against both men AND a number of “Strippers.” His professional record is 30-0-1 with 28 KOs. And while Tank was “must watch TV” a few years ago, that’s not the case of late!
INACTIVITY, WARRANTS & SKATING Tank” was wanted by the Feds a few months back for roughing up, you guessed it a Stripper. Booked on an assortment of Felony charges that were recently Dropped, incredibly Gervonta Davis “skates again.”
TIME TO STICK A FORK IN TANK? 31-year-old Gervonta Davis hit his “zenith” career-wise in either 2020 with a KO 6 of 37-1 Leo Santa Cruz, the 2021 TKO 6 spanking of unbeaten Rolly Romero. Or perhaps his 2023 stoppage of the erratic Ryan Garcia? Since then he’s beaten Frank Martin in 2024 and in 2025 had a disputed Draw 12 with the nondescript Lamont Roach.
18 MONTHS OF INACTIVITY…BECAUSE? When he and Shakur Stevenson clash in September & again on Netflix*, Davis will have been out of action circa 18 months. And during that period, he’s been in Handcuffs more often than Boxing Gloves! Davis’ lengthy Legal dilemmas can be explained like this: “You can take a man out of the Ghetto, but you can’t take the Ghetto out of the man!” That best describes Tank Davis in 1 sentence!
SHAKUR STEVENSON NOT A BOY SCOUT! Now, having thrown Shade at Gervonta Davis for his track record with Strippers, it’s Mr. Stevenson’s turn. There is a video of him pummeling a guy on the ground in a Florida gas station. One of the “lowest” acts committed by a boxer, Shakur has “all but” gotten a pass for his despicable actions by boxing’s 4th Estate.
UNBEATEN SHAKUR BIGGER & FASTER! In a “man to man” comparison, Shakur is 3 inches taller at 5’8 than Davis, has longer arms & faster hands. With the “exception” of raw punching power, Shakur (23-0, 11 KOs) looks to NOT only to be the “far better” of the two, at 28, Shakur is the “Fresher” fighter of the two. His last win, a near-shutout of Teofimo Lopez was in January!
DAVIS NEEDS “EPIC PERFORMANCE” “Tank” Davis will probably need to render Shakur “horizontal” to win. That being said, Shakur Stevenson has the “speed, size & skill” to make this Netflix* matchup look easy. Will he?
WHY AM I PUTTING AN * ON NETFLIX*? Because Dana White and Zuffa Sports have a lot of money. But I think Netflix has a lot more money & clout. And if they continue to buy “big fights” in the coming years, that will surely “hurt the Zuffa brand” & Dana.
