Houston’s Rocky Suffers First Professional Loss

ROSEMONT, ILL – Just minutes from Chicago’s O’Hare International AirportRocky Juarez‘s undefeated record suffered from wind shear as he lost a gritty, seesaw battle against Humberto Soto for the World Boxing Council interim featherweight title Saturday night.

Originally scheduled to fight WBC champion InJin Chi for the WBC title, Juarez (23-1, 16 knockouts), an Olympic silver medalist in 2000, demonstrated his vaunted power in spots, especially in the seventh round with a pair of left hooks that had Soto hanging on at round’s end. But Juarez lost in a unanimous decision before 9,096 fans.
