EAT Presents 2 New Phono Stages Inspired by Their Flagship E-Glo FB

Nesconset, NY, July 15, 2026 — Vana Ltd, a specialty distributor that provides the North American market with carefully chosen audio components from international manufacturers, today announced the availability of two new EAT (European Audio Team) balanced phono stages with implementations inspired by the flagship E-Glo FB.

EAT expanded its balanced phono stage lineup with the introduction of the E-Glo SB and E-Glo CB (SRP: $6250 and $4599, respectively). Drawing on the design philosophy established by the flagship E-Glo FB, the new models feature fully balanced phono amplification, balanced XLR connectivity, and discrete circuitry to broader segments of the high-end analog market.

Positioned between the compact Petit B and the reference FB within EAT’s fully balanced phono stage family, the new models offer two distinct approaches to balanced phono amplification, each housed in EAT’s premium full-width chassis.

The E-Glo CB emphasizes value through a hybrid tube topology, while the E-Glo SB advances further toward EAT’s flagship architecture with a fully tube-based second amplification stage and upgraded component selection. (The “B” designation denotes EAT’s fully balanced architecture, with balanced XLR in/out and fully symmetrical gain stages.)

“Balanced phono stages still aren’t common, especially tube-based ones,” says Roy Feldstein, Chief Technology Officer, VANA Ltd. “What I like about the CB and SB models is that EAT didn’t simply strip features out of a flagship model. These are two truly thoughtful designs that derive from the same philosophy behind the reference model.”

A Common Balanced Architecture

Both the E-Glo SB and E-Glo CB feature a topology with three gain stages. The value-oriented E-Glo CB combines balanced operation with a hybrid tube topology that offers much of the flagship’s sound signature at a more accessible price point.

The higher-end E-Glo SB moves further toward the flagship’s design philosophy with a fully tube-based second stage and a higher-grade capacitor complement.

Both models support balanced XLR connectivity for MM and MC cartridges, extensive cartridge-loading adjustments, gain settings from 40dB to 70dB, dual-mono construction, and simultaneous RCA and XLR outputs.

Two Distinct Implementations in the Second Stage

While the two models share a common balanced platform, the second gain stage is where their design philosophies diverge. The SB’s second stage is a fully balanced tube-based design that is closer to the flagship model, featuring two ECC83S and two E88CC triodes.

The CB’s second stage is a hybrid single-ended design, with a tube-transistor amplifier composed of two ECC83S triodes and one transistor. This stage includes the low-frequency RIAA boost and a switchable subsonic filter.

Both models share similar implementations in the other two gain stages. The first stage incorporates three discrete semiconductor operational amplifiers: one for the positive phase, one for the negative, and one that sums the outputs of the other two. This cancels common-mode noise and maximizes the signal-to-noise ratio. High-frequency RIAA equalization is also applied in this first stage.

The final output stage consists of a dual discrete semiconductor operational amplifier that converts the unbalanced signal to a balanced one and maintains the preamplifier’s low output impedance. Low DC offset at the outputs is ensured by dedicated DC servo circuits.

“Balanced operation is only valuable if it’s thoughtfully implemented,” adds Mr. Feldstein. “What impresses me about these designs is that EAT preserved the core benefits of the flagship model while creating two products with clearly distinct personalities and strengths.”
