The Dr. Feikert Analogue Woodpecker Turntable is slated to arrive in the near future. Highly recommended by a veteran audio designer friend for both its quality and ease of use when swapping out tonearms for evaluative purposes, it will be put through the paces at length. Moreover, Juan C. Ayllon has been designated to review it for a leading Hi-Fi publication in the coming season. The Woodpecker turntable currently retails for $6,495 with no tonearm.
According to a press release from MoFi Distribution, the U.S. distributor for the brand, “Dr. Feickert Analogue was founded in 2002 by Dr. Christian Feickert, a music lover and choir singer with a PhD in Physics/Chemistry. The brand is currently available in over 30 countries. Owning countless record players since the age of 13, he became acutely aware of the common flaws to various turntable designs. Consequently, he sought out to create a perfect turntable design in the tradition of ‘Black Forest Craftsmanship,’ whereby a product should last a lifetime.”
