Join us this weekend in the Chicago area for two ATC Loudspeaker Technology Ltd. listening events. Lone Mountain Audio’s Leland Leard will present the ATC SCM50ASL loudspeakers and CDA2 MkII CD/Preamp/DAC at two sites. Leard will demonstrate and discuss the ATC SCM50ASL Classic Active Speakers and the ATC CDA2mk2-Preamp/DAC/CD Player, and highlight the differences and advantages of active speakers versus passive, while offering insight into the history and heritage of ATC. The presentations will take place at Holm Audio on Saturday, and The Chicago Audio Society on Sunday.
Lone Mountain Audio is the US Distributor of ATC speakers and electronics from England, which began serving the professional sound industry over 50 years ago, and 30 years ago introduced lines of speakers and electronics for audiophiles.
ATC (Acoustic Transducer Company) designs and hand-builds all of its drive units, crossovers, and amplifiers entirely in-house at its facility in Stroud, Gloucestershire, England. They are used by hundreds of award-winning recording artists, such as Pink Floyd, Lenny Kravitz, Diana Krall, James Newton Howard, Tom Petty and Mark Knopfler. They can be found in a long list of world-renowned recording studios such as Blackbird Studios in Nashville, East West Studios in LA, House of Blues in Nashville/LA and Sheffield Labs Founder Doug Sax’s Mastering Room.

On Saturday, Leard will present at Holm Audio from noon to 5 PM. Holm Audio is located at 2050 West 75th Street, Woodridge, IL 60517. The store sits at the intersection of I-355 and 75th Street, next to the Bakers Square Restaurant (see the map above).
And on Sunday, the presentation will be held at the Chicago Audio Society from 2 PM to 5 PM at Unitel Technologies, 479 E. Business Center Drive, Suite 105, Mount Prospect, IL 60056.
